Kohl earned a degree in health, wellness, and recreation as well as a master of business administration from UD. During her college career, she played soccer from 2007 to 2010. Kohl started in every college game in her career at UD and she was the 2011 UD Female Athlete of the Year.

After graduation, Kohl was a strength and conditioning coach at a gym called The FIT in Rockford, Illinois. She relocated back to Dubuque in 2014 where she worked full-time at Cottingham & Butler and part-time at MERGE Performance Institute while she obtained a master’s degree from UD. In 2018, Kohl was named director of operations and lead trainer at MERGE Performance.

Kohl and her husband, Jordan (C’12), reside in Asbury with their children, Kollins and Jensen.
