Ivan Livingstone (C'54) is one of the most decorated Track & Field student-athletes in the University of Dubuque's history with 11 individual Iowa Conference Championships and four team titles. Livingstone won the 100 yard dash (3-times), 220 yard dash (3-times), mile relay (3-times), and 880 yard relay (2-times). The Spartans brought home the IIAC Outdoor Track & Field Championship from 1951-54 with Livingstone leading the scoring. His 11 titles are the most in school history. He was named Team Captain for three seasons. 

Following graduation, Livingstone went on to play in the Canadian Football League for the Calgary Stampeders. The Montreal, Quebec native would play in the CFL for seven seasons as a running back, wide receiver, defensive back, and kick returner. He would also suit up for the Montreal Alouettes (1957-60) and the BC Lions (1955-56).
