Mark Mashburn graduated from the University of Dubuque in 2008 with a degree in sociology and criminal justice with a minor in psychology. He was on the football team for four years, serving as captain for two seasons, and participated in indoor track for one year. Mark earned UD’s Defensive Most Valuable Player and Player of the Year two times and earned the Top Rock (Hardest Hitter) Award two times.
After graduating from UD, Mark played for the Madison Mustangs. He also played professionally for the Chicago Rush, Wisconsin Wolfpack, and Milwaukee Iron. Mark earned all-league three times in Semi-Pro-All America with the Madison Mustangs, and he is the franchise record holder for longest punt and kick return for touchdowns, as well as most punt and kick returns for touchdowns. He earned Defensive MVP two times, and Special Teams MVP three times.
Mark married his college sweetheart, Jessica (McCullor) Mashburn (Ex‘10). Together they own a successful business, lead a thriving ministry, and are founders of a homeschool community. Mark and Jessica reside in Rhome, Texas, and have three children, Zandra, Honor, and Maverick.
