University of Dubuque

Juris Terauds (C'61) holds the University of Dubuque record in the Javelin with a career best throw of 215' 8.0" in 1960. He was a member of two Iowa Conference Outdoor Track & Field Championships as the Spartans won the team title in 1959 and 1961. Individually he won the IIAC javelin title in 1959 and 1960. Terauds also claimed javelin titles at the Iowa Teachers Relays (University of Northern Iowa) and Cornell Relays in 1960. 

Terauds went on to win three Canadian championships in the Javelin. He has also authored numerous books and articles on biomechanics in sports.
