University of Dubuque

Lawrence "L.K." Sandoval (C'42) was a letter winner in five sports while at the University of Dubuque. As a Spartan he lettered in basketball, football, tennis, track, and wrestling. Sandoval was the most successful on the basketball court, earning All-Iowa Conference. Sandy also participated in the Drake Relays in 1935 where he befriended the famous Jesse Owens. 

Sandoval graduated with a BA in Agricultural Economics and Political Science. He was also a Major in the US Army Intelligence Service.
