University of Dubuque

Robert Sellergren (C'47) played football at the University of Dubuque throughout the 1940's earning All-Iowa Conference honors three times. Sellergren started at quarterback as a freshman in 1940 for the IIAC Champion Spartans who went a perfect 7-0 in league play. He earned All-IIAC quarterback in 1940 and 1941. Sellergren returned to UD in 1946 after serving in the war and earned First Team All-IIAC at halfback.

Sellergren joined the Army in 1942, earning the rank of Lt. Col. in the Army Air Corp during World War II. Following graduation he joined the Air Force.
