Burst Resigns as Head Men's Lacrosse Coach

DUBUQUE, Iowa – Head men's lacrosse coach Kasey Burst has announced his resignation from the program. Burst leaves the University of Dubuque after 10 years, leading the program with a record 76 wins in that span.

Burst led the Spartans to five 10+ game winning seasons over his tenure, including the last four seasons. Burst was named MLC Coach of the Year in 2022 and during his time at UD, coached five conference players of the year as well as a three-time Division III All-American.

In 2022, the Spartans had a program record 12 wins and won the Midwest Lacrosse Conference title. Earning the automatic bid to the NCAA Tournament in 2022, the Spartans became the first collegiate men's lacrosse team from the state of Iowa to compete in the NCAA Championships for men's lacrosse.

"We wish Kasey and his family the best as they transition to their next opportunity. We thank them for their service to the UD communities and for leaving a lasting legacy for the department and the many lives that they have touched" stated Nelson Edmonds, vice president of student engagement and intercollegiate athletics.
