MILWAUKEE, Wis. - The Northern Athletics Collegiate Conference (NACC) announced the men's lacrosse athletes of the week on Wednesday morning. University of Dubuque men's lacrosse student-athlete Ethan Smith was named conference men's lacrosse defenseman of the week after helping the Spartans to a 2-0 week on their road trip. 

Smith (Hartland, Mich. / Hartland) is earning his first career conference athlete od the week award in his career after causing five turnovers and picking up 15 ground balls in two games last week. Smith had a season-highs in caused turnovers (4), ground balls (8), and added an assist in the road win over Edgewood. He also added another seven ground balls in the big win at Lake Forest on Saturday. 

The Spartans are back in action tonight at 7:00 p.m. when they face the Beloit College Buccaneers from Oyen Field.
