FOND DU LAC, Wis. - The University of Dubuque men's lacrosse team put up a season-high 20 goals en route to a 20-1 win on the road at the Marian University Sabres on Saturday afternoon.
The Sabres scored the game's first goal five minutes into the game, but after that, it was all Spartans. On the afternoon, 11 different Spartans found their way into the scoring column as the Spartans scored 20 straight goals after the Sabres had scored first. The Spartans' best offensive output today was in the second quarter, putting up seven goals.
Cambell Smith and
Carter Nelson led the way with four goals apiece, with Smith adding a pair of assists to lead the Spartans with six points on the day.
Nolan Dimitri and
Nate Richardson each finished with three points (1 goal, 2 assists), while
Tyler Johnson (2),
Connor Lindauer,
John Lewis (2),
Peter Schiess (1),
Tait Peters (1),
Matthew Wright (1), and
Gavin Flattery (1) all scored goals today for the Spartans.
Chris Wilson had a two-assist game, while
Logan Ehle and
Owen Lang added assists today as well.
The Spartans finished the game with 48 shots on goal on 76 total shot attempts. The Spartans forced 13 turnovers and collected 50 ground balls.
Nolan Nagy picked up his fourth win of the season, saving three shots in just playing just the first 30 minutes of the game.
Ethan Branscom played the entire second half and collected two saves.
The Spartans improve to 4-3 overall this season and are now 2-0 in NACC play.
