JANESVILLE, Wis. - The University of Dubuque men's golf team wrapped up their first tournament of the fall at the Edgewood University Fall Invitational. With both an A and B team participating in the invitational, Dubuque (B) finished second, and Dubuque (A) placed tied for fifth.
The Spartans B team was nine-over par (+9) the first day and even on day two, finishing comfortably in second, eight strokes ahead of Carroll University. On day two, Drew Aschliman led the pack, going under par by three (-3) to finish 12th individually. Tyson Malak had a second consecutive day of strong play with a two-under-par performance (-2), which wrapped up a fourth-place finish. Joe LaBarbera shot one over par (+1) and finished top 10 in ninth. Caleb McCullough shot four over (+4) and placed 33rd.
The Spartans A team collectively shot nine over (+9) on day two. Individually, Bock Mueller led the Spartans A team on the second day, shooting one-over (+1) and placing 20th overall. John Dobbe and Hunter Polley both shot two over (+2) on day two, with Dobbe placing 14th and Polley 17th. Bob Ryan and Nolan Adamczyk each shot four over (+4); Ryan placed 40th.
As a team, the Spartans B team led the Edgewood University Fall Invitational in total birdies over the two rounds with 30.

The Spartans' next outing will be at the Wrigglesworth Blugold Invitational in Eau Claire, Wisconsin. The invitational will be hosted by UW-Eau Claire at the Eau Claire Country Club & Wild Ridge Golf Course on September 13-14.
