LAKE GENEVA, Wis. - The University of Dubuque men's golf team led from start to finish on day two of The Grand Intercollegiate to capture the team title with a team score of 569 (+1). Day two was led by
John Dobbe, who fired off a round of 65 (-6) to finish tied for third place on the individual leaderboard.
Dobbe started the day in 45th place, but after carding a 65 (-6) today at Grand Geneva Resort, he jumped up to finish tied for third place. Dobbe finished tied for the best single round of the tournament and finished the day with three birdies, two eagles, and only one bogey on his final hole of the day.
Tyson Malak finished tied for eighth place with a two-day total of 144 (+2) after carding a 75 today.
Joe LaBarbera had the second-best Monday for the Spartans, shooting under par with a 68 (-3). LaBarbera finished 36 holes with a scorecard of 145 (+3).
Bock Mueller shot another 73 (+2) as he did on Sunday to finish with a 146 (+4) and in a tie for 17th place.
Bob Ryan (+7) and
Hunter Polley (+7) each ended with 36-hole scorecards of 149 to finish tied for 27th place, while
Drew Aschliman finished tied for 52nd place with a 154 (+12).
The Spartans had a total of six eagles throughout this tournament, which was four more than second place UW-Eau Claire, which played a huge role in getting the tournament win.
