ALTOONA, Wis. - The University of Dubuque men's golf team shot a 289 (+1) on Monday to surge from eighth place all the way up to a runner-up finish at the Wrigglesworth Blugold Invitational.
John Dobbe shot a 66 (-6) to win medalist honors, finishing with a 36-hole score of 139 (-4).
Dobbe had five birdies and an eagle on Monday that set up a great day for the senior golfer, and he was able to pull away from the field and win by three strokes.
Tyson Malak shot one over par today to finish his tournament at +7 to finish tied for 14th place.
Bob Ryan and
Bock Mueller each went three over par today, and both were able to shoot +9 and tie for 26th place. Like Ryan and Mueller,
Hunter Polley also shot three over par today and was +10 for his tournament, good for a tie for 35th place.
The Spartans totaled 15 birdies and two eagles today that helped them move up the leaderboard today.
