DUBUQUE, Iowa — The University of Dubuque Spartans baseball team will return to the iconic Field of Dreams in Dyersville, Iowa, this fall when they take on the Northeast Iowa Community College (NICC) Cougars in an exhibition matchup on Sunday, October 11, at 1:00 p.m. from the newly built Field of Dreams Ballpark.

The exhibition marks the second consecutive season the Spartans and Cougars have faced each other at the Field of Dreams. Last year's matchup was played on the original movie-site field as construction was still underway on the new ballpark. This year's game will provide the Spartans with another opportunity to compete at one of the most recognizable baseball destinations in the country.

"Playing at the Field of Dreams a year ago has impacted me as much as any game I've ever coached. I'm grateful our team has another opportunity to experience the spirit of the game, the history, the magic, the pure love of baseball, and carry that deeper connection with them long after the final out" stated head baseball coach Dan Spain.

The exhibition will serve as an exciting early-season opportunity for the Spartans as they continue preparations for the upcoming 2027 season.
