HOWEY-IN-THE-HILLS, Fla. - The University of Dubuque men's golf team is one day away from opening up the 2026 NCAA Division III Men's Golf Championships at the Mission Resort & Club, where they will be competing on both the El Campeon and Las Colinas courses.
After winning the 2026 American Rivers Conference Men's Golf Championship for the second year in a row nearly two weeks ago, the Spartans are back on the national stage yet again, this time competing in Florida at the Mission Resort & Club.
Luke Harwick (Guttenberg, Iowa / Beckman Catholic HS) will be golfing in the No. 1 slot for the Spartans this week, following an incredible sophomore campaign in which he won the A-R-C individual title and was recently named NCAA Division III Men's Golf PING/GCAA All-Region VI, his second consecutive all-region honor.
In the No. 2 slot,
John Dobbe (Eldridge, Iowa / North Scott HS) had a great junior season and was just named to the NCAA Division III Men's Golf PING/GCAA All-Region VI team over the weekend, alongside Harwick. Dobbe also earned all-conference honors two weeks ago with a sixth-place finish at the A-R-C Championships and won three tournaments this past fall.
Bob Ryan (Tipton, Iowa / Tipton HS) will be golfing in the No. 3 spot for the Spartans. Ryan was an A-R-C honorable mention golfer and was named to the Great Lakes Intercollegiate all-tournament team back in late March.
Pauly Bloomquist (Palatine, Ill. / Palatine HS) will be the No. 4 golfer for the Spartans, and
Tyson Malak (Elgin, Ill. / Burlington Central HS) will round out the five-golfer field for the Spartans this week at the NCAA Championships. Both Bloomquist and Malak earned honorable mention honors at the A-R-C Championships.
Hear from Dustin Bierman
"Looking forward to seeing how we stack up on the national level down in Florida. Our team has worked extremely hard all year long to secure this opportunity, and I know they will be well-prepared to go. We will put a good game plan together and let it rip. Should be a lot of fun, and this team always rises to the occasion."
The Spartans will open the NCAA Championships on Tuesday morning (May 12) at 11:45 a.m. (ET) / 10:45 a.m. (CT) at the Las Colinas course and then for round two on Wednesday morning (May 13) at the El Campeon course. Following the first two days, the tournament field will be cut down to the top 18 teams, and then the top six individuals who are not a part of the top 18 teams will make the cut. Teams and individuals that make the cut will play the final 36 holes on both Thursday and Friday to complete the NCAA Championships.
The Spartans' highest finish at the NCAA Championships was a 20th-place finish last season, and they are seeking to make the cut for the first time in school history. The last A-R-C school to make the cut in men's golf was Central back in 2013, where they finished in 12th place.
