No. 2 Men's Lacrosse Set to Host No. 7 Benedictine in NACC First Round on Saturday Night

DUBUQUE, Iowa - After earning the No. 2 seed after Wednesday's regular season finale, the University of Dubuque men's lacrosse team is set to host No. 7 seed Benedictine University on Saturday, April 26 at 7:00 p.m. from Oyen Field.

In their inaugural season in the Northern Athletics Collegiate Conference (NACC) the Spartans went 10-6 in conference play, winning nine of their last eleven games and six straight to end the regular season. With the No. 2 seed, the Spartans will face the No. 7 seed Eagles of Benedictine University on Saturday night. In the regular season the Spartans edged the Eagles on the road in a double-overtime thriller that was capped off by a Andrew Beaudoin game-winning goal.

Heading into the first round game, the Spartans are led offensively by a trio of attackers in Sam Todd, Aidan Culligan, and Giovanni Silva who have all surpassed 50 plus points this season. Ethan Smith has been active all season on the defense end, recording 35 caused turnovers and collecting 67 ground balls. Nolan Nagy will be looking to secure his second and only the fourth 10+ winning season in goal in program history on Saturday against the Eagles.

Saturday's winners advance to semifinal play on Wednesday, April 30. The higher-remaining seed between the two semifinal winners will host the 2025 NACC Men's Lacrosse Tournament final on Saturday, May 3. The tournament champion receives the NACC's automatic berth in the 2025 NCAA Division III Men's Lacrosse Championship.
