Men's Lacrosse Season Ends in NACC Semifinals

DUBUQUE, Iowa - The University of Dubuque men's lacrosse team's season came to end on Wednesday night at Oyen Field to the Concordia University Wisconsin Falcons 14-13 in the NACC semifinals.

The Spartans fell in a quick two goal deficit, but responded by finishing the opening quarter with two goals of their own to head to the second quarter tied at 2-all. The Spartans finished off five unanswered goals to go up 5-2 early into the second. There were a total of 14 goals scored in the second quarter alone and the Spartans had built a 8-5 lead before the Falcons scored four unanswered to retake the lead, but a Spartan's goal with six seconds left sent both teams to the half knotted at 9-all.

The second half was a back and forth battle as neither team could separate themselves from the other. The Spartans had the lead 13-12 with 6:48 to go, but two Falcon goals in the final five minutes ended the Spartans season in heartbreak in the NACC semifinals.

Sam Todd finished his final game of his career with a six-point performance. Peter Schiess played his final game and scored a pair of goals and dished out an assist. Aidan Culligan and Cambell Smith had multi-point games, while Aiden Ennett and Giovanni Silva each had one goal to finish off their careers for the Spartans. Parker Hahne had two caused turnovers in his final game on defense.

The Spartans conclude their season at 11-7 overall.
