DUBUQUE, Iowa - The United Soccer Coaches (USC) released the 2025 All-Region teams on Tuesday. The University of Dubuque women's soccer team had four student-athletes earned All-Region IX recognition.
Alyssa Tranchita was named to the first team, followed by
Virginia Speltz (second team),
Sarah Thompson (third team), and
Karissa Cruz (fourth team).
Tranchita (Greenfield, Wis. / Whitnall) was named all-region for the first time in her career after a career year that featured 13 goals and eight assists across 19 games this season. The senior forward also had three game-winners. Tranchita was also named A-R-C Offensive MVP earlier this Fall by the conference.
Speltz (Winnebago, Ill. / Winnebago) finished 19 games with seven goals and five assists, both career highs in her final year with the Spartans. In her four playing years, Speltz has been a four-time All-Region honoree with two third team selections and most recently in her last two years, second team honors. Speltz was also named A-R-C All-Conference earlier this Fall. She becomes the first in program history to be named a four-time All-Region performer.
Thompson (Normal, Ill. / Normal Community) had a great first year with the Spartans as one of the leaders on the defensive back line. Thompson scored two goals and held shutout opposing offensives in eight games this season.
Cruz (Elgin, Ill. / Elgin) earned her first career All-Region honor of her career this year after playing 13 games in goal for the Spartans, allowing 0.65 goals per game and recorded a total of 35 saves. Cruz finished with a record of 7-1-5.
