SPARTANBURG. S.C. – The University of Dubuque men's cross country team will send
Anthony Carney Jr. to the NCAA Cross Country Championships for the second straight season this upcoming Saturday, November 22.
Carney Jr. qualified for the NCAA Cross Country Championships by finishing with all-region honors (18th place) in the 8k race at the Midwest Regional with a time of 24:52.8. Carney Jr. was one of seven individuals to earn an at-large from the Midwest Regional. Carney Jr. reduced his time by 16 seconds this year at the Midwest Region Championships from a season ago and looks to ride the momentum into his final race of his collegiate career.
This season, Carney set a school record in the 8k with a time of 24:21.9 at the A-R-C Championships. He has also placed ninth in the conference championships each of the last two seasons.
The NCAA Division III Championships will commence on Saturday, November 22 at 11:00 a.m. at the Roger Millikin Center in Spartanburg. S.C.
