WAVERLY, Iowa – The University of Dubuque men's and women's cross country teams are set to compete in the NCAA Division III Midwest Region Championships on Saturday on the campus of Wartburg College.
The Spartans' men's team will be led by
Anthony Carney Jr., who consistently paces the Spartans and set a school record in the 8k event at the American Rivers Conference Championships two weeks ago. Carney's time was quick enough to earn him All-Conference recognition. The Spartans look to build on the A-R-C Championships where several runners set personal best times.
The Spartans' women's team will be led by
Dede Davis, who ran the second-fastest time in program history in the 6k event at the A-R-C Championships. Davis' time was fast enough to earn her All-Conference in 2025.
The fastest runners at the Region Championships across the country will qualify for the NCAA Championships, held on November 22 at the Roger Milliken Center in Spartanburg, S.C.
