Women's Cross Country Competes at NCAA Division III Pre-Nationals

Davis runs third fastest 6k time in program history

TERRE HAUTE, Ind. - The University of Dubuque women's cross country team got the chance to compete in the NCAA Division III Pre-Nationals meet on Friday night in Indiana that feature numerous ranked teams and individual runners.

Dede Davis ran the third fastest 6k in program history tonight running 23:14.60 to finish 94th overall. Davis's time was also a new career best in the 6k. Kiley Chapman ran 24:35.66 while Ellec Armstead (25:18.56) and Kiana Vogel (25:24.16) were separated by six seconds.

Mackenzie Rader rounded out the top five scoring for the Spartans, running 26:54.08. Alli Gonnella and Dakota Newcomb were the final finishers of the night for the Spartans. All seven Spartans ran personal best times.

The Spartans will compete in the Augustana College Interregional Invite in two weeks on October 19. The race will be at the Saukie Golf Course in Rock Island, Ill. at 11:00 a.m.
