ROCK ISLAND, Ill. - The University of Dubuque women's cross country team ran at the NCAA Midwest Regional meet on Saturday where
Dede Davis had the best overall individual finish since 2016, while the Spartans finished 19th as a team.
With a 74th place finish on Saturday, Davis had the best time and place of any women's cross country student-athlete at UD since Fabiola Ortiz finished 6th back in 2016. The sophomore ran 24:11.6 in the 6k race, finishing the best she has in her career at the regional meet.
Jaide Flowers was the second runner to cross the finish line in 114th place, running a personal best time of 24:52.6.
Kiana Vogel was just behind Flowers in 121st running just five seconds behind her personal best in 25:00.7.
Ellec Armstead ran 25:23.5 to finish 130th and
Alli Gonnella posted a time of 25:59.2 to finish 142nd.
Dakota Newcomb ran a personal best time of 26:21.3, while
Mackenzie Rader finished just behind at 26:34.0.
The Spartans have now finished 19th as a team in the regional meet for the second consecutive year and ties the best team finish since 2014.
The Spartans conclude their cross country season for 2024.
