COLFAX, Wis. - The University of Dubuque women's cross country team saw a stacked field of runners on Friday afternoon at the UW-Eau Claire Blugold Invitational. The Whitetail golf course saw 242 runners competing among 25 teams in the 6k course.
Dede Davis was the top finisher for the Spartans in a time of 24:53.40 to finish 110th overall. This was Davis's first 6k race of her collegiate career and would be the 21st best time in UD history in the 6k race. Trailing Davis was
Ellec Armstead who was the next Spartan to cross the finish line in 26:33.20. Armstead improved her 6k time by 14 seconds from a year ago at the Blugold Invitational.
Alexia Pecora ran 26:35.50 which was almost a whole three minutes off her 6k time at last weeks UW-Platteville Pioneer Gender Equity Invite.
Jaide Flowers saw an improvement from a week ago as well running 27:18.50, a :47 second difference. Rounding out the top five for the Spartans was
Katelyn Pfaltzgraff running 27:18.50.

The Spartans will race again in two weeks when they travel to Rock Island, Ill. for the Augustana Interregional Invite on Saturday, October 14 at 11:00 a.m. The Spartans will look to build upon their time one final time before the conference meet on October 28.
