Lydia Zarling was the Spartans second runner across the finish line with a time of 22:52.43, an 18 second improvement from the Spartan Igniter on September 1. Freshmen
Taylor Barber,
Kiley Chapman, and
Katrina Truitt were the 3-4-5 finishers for the Spartans. Chetna Bhusar cut 1 minute and 38 seconds from her time just 10 days ago.
"Riley had a solid race on the women's side, and her first mile of the race was faster than any mile race she ran in track last spring, so that's a big indicator how much she's improved over the summer. It was a tough meet as a team so we just need to get better one day at a time." –
Rich Maleniak, head cross country coach
The Spartans return to action on Friday, September 17 at the Bradley University Intercollegiate Championships in Peoria, IL.
