Box Score WAVERLY, Iowa - The University of Dubuque men's basketball team extended their start to the 2020-21 season to an unblemished 6-0 overall mark on Saturday after a 72-55 victory at Wartburg College.
The Spartans pounded the ball inside and would out score the Knights 38-18 in the paint. The two squads struggled to find the deep ball and would both finish shooting less than 30% from beyond the three point arc. UD made just 6-22 attempts and the Knight made 5-14 attempts. Freshman
Sam Kilburg drove the lane and led the Spartans in scoring with 23 points and three assists.
Peter Ragen finished with 14 points, but led with 15 rebounds to finish with the only double-double in the game.
Brock Simon never missed a shot from the field to add 12 points.
Once again the Spartans would never trail in the win, and would lead by as much as 20 points in the second half. The Spartans (6-0 overall, 2-0 in A-R-C) will continue their season on Wednesday, Feb. 3 on the friendly confines of Jon Davison Court when they host the Loras College Duhawks at 5:30 p.m. in Stoltz Sports Center.
