Men’s Golf Repeats as A-R-C Champions; Harwick Leads Record-Breaking Performance as A-R-C Medalist

WEST DES MOINES, Iowa - The University of Dubuque men's golf team set the three-day, 54-hole conference championships record of 884 en route to their second consecutive conference title on Tuesday, Sophomore Luke Harwick broke the 54-hole individual conference championships record with an even par performance to become the fourth Spartan to be earn the A-R-C Individual Conference title.

The Spartans started the final day of the A-R-C Championships up by 17-strokes and would shoot a team total of 298 (+14) on Tuesday to win the conference title by nine strokes, finishing with a three-day total of 884 (+32), The Spartans' 884 team score broke the 2023 Luther College 54-hole conference championships record by seven strokes (891).

The Spartans are also the first school since 1989-1990 to win consecutive conference titles on both the men's and women's golf teams.

After winning A-R-C Rookie of the Year honors in 2025, Harwick would shoot a 54-hole total of 213 (E) to break the previous individual conference championship record of 215, set by a Wartburg College golfer back in 2018. Harwick becomes just the fourth UD men's golfer in program history to win the individual conference title, while also earning back-to-back men's individual champions for the first time ever at the University of Dubuque (Jim Kinney '75, Eric Wolfe '14, and Carter Ruegsegger '25).

John Dobbe earned back-to-back all-conference performances with a sixth place finish (+8) after tiebreakers. Tyson Malak, Bob Ryan, and Pauly Bloomquist (+16) all earned honorable mention honors after finishing in a tie for 11th place. Head coach Dustin Bierman was named A-R-C Men's Golf Coach of the Year for the second consecutive year.

Hear from Dustin Bierman
"Super proud of the guys over these last three days, leading wire to wire the entire way, and to finish it off in the end is a great feeling. The guys have done an incredible job all year long, and every time they needed to answer the bell, they went out and did so on a tough golf course. For this team to be the first in our program's history to win back-to-back conference titles is not surprising at all, given this group. I'm really excited for Luke, as winning a conference title was one of his goals this season, and shooting even par is an incredible feat on that golf course. Looking forward to the NCAA Championships in a few weeks, and we will be ready to make some noise down in Florida."

The Spartans will now head down to Howey-in-the-Hills, Florida to compete at the 2026 NCAA Division III Men's Golf Championships at the Mission Resort & Club beginning on Tuesday, May 12.
