DES MOINES, Iowa - The 2026 American Rivers Conference (A-R-C) Men's Golf Championships opened on Sunday afternoon as the Spartans concluded day one with a nine-stroke lead after shooting 287 (+3). Sophomore
Luke Harwick leads the entire field with a score of four under par through 18 holes.
The Spartans recorded 14 birdies through round one today, the most of any team in the field. Of those 14 birdies, 10 of them came from the duo of
Luke Harwick and
John Dobbe.
Harwick shot four under (-4) today with six birdies (all six birdies on par 4's) and leads by two strokes heading into day two. Harwick's 67 scorecard tied the A-R-C Men's Golf Championships record yesterday, first to shoot a 67 since 1988.
Along with Harwick, Dobbe is one of three golfers under par through 18 holes as he sits one under (-1) and in third place, just one stroke back of second.
Senior
Bob Ryan is in a tie for fifth place at one over (+1) after a round that consisted of two birdies and three bogeys. Ryan tied for the most pars of any golfer today with 13 pars.
Tyson Malak is tied for 23rd place at seven over (+7), and
Pauly Bloomquist is in a three-way tie for 30th place at nine over (+9).
