TERRE HAUTE, Ind. - The University of Dubuque men's golf team broke the team single-day program record on Saturday at the Great Lakes Intercollegiate with a 278 team score. The Spartans currently lead by 10 strokes with
John Dobbe tied atop the leaderboard (-4) through 18 holes with
Luke Harwick (-3) one shot back in third place.
Through the first 18 holes of the Great Lakes Intercollegiate, the Spartans hold a 10-stroke lead with a program record 278 (-6), leading Aurora University (+4). The previous single-day program record for the Spartans was 279, set back in 2025.
John Dobbe sits in a tie for first place with a 67 (-4). Dobbe finished his first day with an even par front nine and then on the back nine went four under par.
Luke Harwick (-3) had five birdies on the day and a pair of bogeys. Both Dobbe and Harwick are two of only three golfers currently under par.
Tyson Malak sits tied for fourth with an even 71, while
Bob Ryan is currently +1 and tied for 11th.
Joe LaBarbera (+3) and
Pauly Bloomquist (+4) also had solid days on the course through the first 18 holes.
