DECORAH, Iowa – The University of Dubuque men's track & field team completed the final day of the A-R-C Indoor Track & Field Championships on Saturday. The Spartans had two conference champions on Saturday with three all-conference performances to finish fifth in the team standings.
Jaberrius Peake was named A-R-C Track Most Valuable Player.
In the weight throw to begin the day,
Lucas Cummings threw 18.55 meters on his fourth attempt to earn his first conference championship of his career.
Dakota Hoffman was runner-up right behind his teammate with a toss of 17.73 meters. This was Hoffman's first career all-conference honor in the weight throw.
Jaberrius Peake won the conference title in the 400 meters for the first time in his career with a season best time of 49.03 seconds. Peake also earned all-conference honors in the 200 meters with a runner-up finish where he posted a season-best time of 22.03 seconds. In his third event on Saturday, Peake also recorded a seventh-place finish in the 60-meter dash with a time of 6.99 seconds.
The Spartans 4x400 meter relay team consisting of
Matt Haerle,
Kaden Miller,
Jaberrius Peake, and
Kali Freeman ran an all-conference third place finish with a time of 3:22.28, a season best for the quartet.

The Spartans will now prepare for next week's indoor final qualifiers starting with the UW-Platteville final qualifier on Friday, March 6. The Spartans will also go to UW-La Crosse on Saturday, March 7.
