DUBUQUE, Iowa - The University of Dubuque men's track and field team hosted the Sol Butler Classic on Friday evening that featured 11 individual top three finishes.
Lucas Cummings had the highlight of the meet, tossing 19.03 meters that now ranks eighth in Division III.
Lowen Krueger secured a top three finish in the 60 meter hurdles final in a time of 8.57.
Matt Haerle ran 22.83 seconds in the 200 meter dash and had the second fastest time non-unattached time in the event.
Jaberrius Peake was runner-up, but the first non-unattached runner in the 400 meter dash with a sub-50 time of 49.53. Peake ran 6.94 seconds in the 60 meter dash final to secure a third place finish. He ran 6.92 seconds in the prelim which is a new personal best.
Evan Robertson ran a personal best 4:19.70 in the mile to secure a third place finish.
The Spartans 'A' squad in the 4x400 meter relay was runner-up after a tight race all the way to the end as the Spartans ran their fastest time of the season in 3:26.72 with the quartet of
Jaberrius Peake,
Matt Haerle,
Kali Freeman, and
Kaden Miller.
On the field events side,
Lucas Cummings was runner-up in the weight throw with a toss of 19.03 meters on his third throw. That throw now ranks eighth in the country and also the eighth weight throw toss to eclipse 19 meters this season.
Dakota Hoffman finished third place in the shot put with a best toss of 16.10 meters.
Kaedon Phillips also recorded a third place finish by clearing 1.90 meters in the high jump.
The duo of
Akim Baba Traore and
Ya-aqob Lozano were the top non-unattached jumpers in the triple jump with jumps of 13.62 meters and 13.23 meters respectively.
