MOUNT VERNON, Iowa - The University of Dubuque men's track & field team was back competing on Saturday at the Cornell College Hilltop Invitational. The Spartans crowned three champions and had a total of 14 top five finishers in their respective events.
On the track,
Jaberrius Peake won the 200 meters in a time of 22.63, while also getting runner-up in the 60 meters in 7.01 seconds. The Spartans finished with three in the top five of the mile race as
Evan Robertson won the event in a time of 4:23.26, while
Aiden Mohr was runner up (4:23.84) and
Trentyn Gilges ran a time of 4:26.82 to finish fourth.
Carter Richter finished third in the 3,000 meter run and finished with a time of 9:14.42.
In the field events,
Dakota Hoffman won the men's shot put with a throw of 15.87 meters. Hoffman also added a personal best throw in the weight throw of 16.79 meters to finish fourth.
Kaedon Phillips had two top five finishes today, finishing third in the high jump and fourth in the long jump.
Braden Troeger was third in the pole vault, clearing exactly 4.00 meters.

The Spartans will compete again next weekend when they take part in the UW-Whitewater Leonard "Squig" Converse Invitational. The two-day meet will be from Friday, January 30 - Saturday, January 31 at the Williams Center.
