PEORIA, Ill. - The University of Dubuque men's cross country team competed in their second race of the season on Friday afternoon at the Bradley Intercollegiate Championships.
Anthony Carney Jr. was the top finisher for the Spartans, finishing just outside the top 10 in 11th place. The Spartans finished 6th in the team race with 204 total points.
Carney Jr. was the third Division III runner to cross the finish line on Friday in the 8k race with a mark of 25:09.90 to finish 11th overall.
Trentyn Gilges (29th) recorded a top 30 finish by placing 29th in a time of 26:22.50.
Jack Mulert (71st) recorded a personal record time of 27:44.00, while
Logan Karottu (76th) ran just behind Mulert with a time of 27:49.10.
Aiden Mohr rounded out the top five scorers for the Spartans with an 80th place finish and a time of 27:56.30.

The Spartans will be back in action on October 3 at the UW-Eau Claire Blugold Invitational. The men's 8k race will start at 4:15 p.m. from the Whitetail Golf Course in Colfax, Wis.
