JANESVILLE, Wis. - The University of Dubuque men's gof team ended the 2025 Culver's Edgewood University Fall Invitational in record breaking fashion by distancing the rest of the field by over 12 strokes for the team title (285-279-564).
Glen Erin Golf Club a Par 71, 6,849 yard course played easily for the Spartans
John Dobbe who paced UD to the team title in a record 279 round on Saturday. UD broke a two day total of 285-279 = 564 record as well. Dobbe led from the start and never looked back en route to a record setting -10 under par for the tournament claiming medalist honors in a total domination. He collected nine birdies on Saturday (14 birdies for the tournament) and won by six strokes over his closest competitor.
"It was a great way to start the season and we wanted to send a message this weekend with our play, commented head coach
Dustin Bierman. "I thought we were locked in every shot and to shoot those scores you have to be. These guys work extremely hard week in and week out. What John did over two days is incredible and not only set the school record but tied the course record as well. Proud of these guys and to set the team record as pretty special as well."
Luke Harwick placed 3rd after rounds of 70-70 to finish -2 under par for the weekend.
Pauly Bloomquist placed 10th overall after shooting rounds of 72-73 +3 over Par.
Tyson Malak placed 12th with scores of 75-72,
Caleb McCullough played as an individual and placed 36th firing off rounds of 72-80.
Carson Rowe played as an individual and placed 59th with a 79-79= 158.
Bob Ryan rebounded from day one and finished with rounds of 82-77-159 to finish 64th.
The tournament had 21 teams and 111 competitors battling at Glen Erin Golf Course. Saturday's round played nearly two strokes less per competitor for an average 78.53 than Friday's wet, weather delayed round. The course allowed just three eagles all weekend.
