JANESVILLE, Wis. - The University of Dubuque men's gof team returned to form in their first meet of the 2025-26 school year and jumped out to a two stroke lead over the 21 team field on Friday afternoon of the 2025 Culver's Edgewood University Fall Invitational. Rain and a weather delay didn't hamper the Spartans as they battled through the field to shoot an opening round of 285 for head coach
Dustin Bierman.
Glen Erin Golf Club provided the backdrop on the Par 71, 6,849 yard course and
John Dobbe led the Spartans and is tied for the lead after shooting a three under par 68 in the first round. Teammate
Luke Harwick trailed close behind with a one under par 70 to tie for fourth overall. The average score on the day was 80.25. The toughest hole on Friday was #12, a Par 4 which played 5.25 allowing just two birdies (41 bogeys and 35 doubles +).
The Spartans continue play on Saturday with the leading group of four with
John Dobbe taking the tee box at 10:36 a.m. on hole #1.
