Gatts Lead Women's Track & Field at Day Two of the Meet of Champions

Reiser and Zoltwoska also Earn Top Three Finishes

ROCK ISLAND, Ill. - The University of Dubuque women's track and field team had a great showing at the Meet of Champions hosted by Augustana College on Friday afternoon. The Spartans came away with one event winner and two other top three finishes, along with three new Spartans entering the top ten record book at UD. The Spartans were led by event winner Jaden Gatts (high jump), along with third place finishers Chloe Reiser (shot put), and Victoria Zoltowska (heptathlon). 

Sophomore Jaden Gatts led the Spartans by leaping 1.64 meters to win the high jump. Gatts set the bar early as she was the only competitor to clear the height in a field of 23 athletes. Her fellow sophomore teammate Chloe Reiser finished in third in the shot put with a farthest throw of 13.24 meters. Senior Victoria Zoltowska finish third overall in the heptathlon finishing with 3,912 points. Zoltowska also moved into the fourth all-time at UD in the seven event multi competition. Joining her were teammates Taylor Martin and Olga Filipovic. Martin finiished ninth in the hepathlon with 3,428 points and she also moved into sixth all-time at UD. Filipovic finished 11th with 3,120 points to move into seventh all-time at UD. Zoltowska, Martin, and Filipovic become the seventh, eighth, and ninth athletes in University of Dubuque history to complete the hepathlon.
