DUBUQUE, Iowa – The University of Dubuque men's and women's track and field teams made a quick turnaround by competing at the Loras Easter Mid-Week at Loras College. The men won five events on the evening,
Jaberrius Peake (200m dash),
Blake Hardison (110m Hurdles),
Zach Sanford (Men's discus),
Jacob Hoffman (High Jump),
Lucas Cummings (Hammer). The women picked up two champions
Nai'lah Anders (Discus) and
Chloe Reiser (Shot Put).
The men were led by
Jaberrius Peake and
Blake Hardison on the track. Peake ran a time of 21.62 in the 200 meter dash to claim the win and move into fourth in the A-R-C in the event. Hardison had another solid day in the 110 meter hurdles winning with a time of 14.52, In the field events
Zach Sanford and
Jacob Hoffman led the Spartans to event wins. Sanford had a great showing in the discus, winning with a season best improvement of 47.98m. Sanford also moves up to fifth in the A-R-C standing after his performance.
Jacob Hoffman won the high jump by having a season best of 1.88m. This is Hoffman's first high jump victory this season. In the hammer throw,
Lucas Cummings picked up the win with a mark of 59.46m. Cummings now has the A-R-C lead in the event and will now move into seventh nationally.
On the women's side, they were led by sophomore throwers
Chloe Reiser and
Nai'lah Anders. Resier won the shot put by throwing 13.65m to move into 10th in the country and second in the A-R-C. Anders won the discus in a similar fashion. She launched a throw of 47.68m to take the conference lead and now has the fourth farthest throw in the country.
