PLATTEVILLE, Wis. - The University of Dubuque men's and women's track & field teams took a short trip up north Friday to compete in the UW-Platteville Triangular. Twelve Spartans earned first place finishes in the first outing of the outdoor track & field season.
The women's track & field team had eight first-place finishers. Mackenzie Rader posted a personal-best time in the 200-meter dash with 26.55; she also took first in the 400-meter dash. Ashley Glennon also set a new personal best with a mark of 50.84 meters to take first in the javelin throw and also took the top spot in the discus throw (39.31m). Nina Tomko took a .04-second victory in the 100-meter hurdles, finishing with a time of 16.29.
Kahlan Kearns took first place in the 400-meter hurdles with a time of 1:09.45, also finishing runner-up in the 400 meters (1:01.13) to Rader. Jaden Gatts took another high jump title with a leap of 1.68 meters. Round out the first place finishers are: Cailey Peterson, pole vault (3.62m); Nai'lah Anders, shot put (13.36m); and Chloe Reiser, hammer throw (48.39m)
On the men's track & field team, the Spartans dominated the throwing events with Dakota Hoffman , Lucas Cummings and Joe Boge all taking the top spot in there throwing events. Hoffman picked up the shot put with a throw of 16.02 meters, Cummings finished in first place for the hammer throw with a 57.77 meter heave and Boge took down the competition in the discus with a 46.21 meters. Christian Jaimes also claimed the high jump title with a 2.01 meter leap.

The Spartans will next compete at the Loras College Mid-Week on Wednesday, April 1. The meet will be in Dubuque, Iowa, at the Finnegan Family Track on Loras' campus.
