WAVERLY, Iowa - The University of Dubuque men's and women's track & field teams competed at both the Wartburg College final qualifier and the UW-La Crosse Final Qualifier on Saturday. The Spartans look to have a handful of events qualifier for the NCAA Division III Indoor National championships, however, the qualifiers will be officially announced tomorrow night. The women's track & field team have two events in position currently. Sophomore
Chloe Reiser in the shot put who has the third farthest throw in the country this season with a mark of 14.73 meters. Joining Reiser is fellow sophomore teammate
Jaden Gatts in the high jump who leaped a season best of 1.69 meters at the UW-La Crosse Final Qualifier. Gatts is currently in tied for 11th in the country in the event.
On the men's side, senior
Nolan Lentz broke the indoor school record 200 meter dash with a time of 21.94 after winning the Wartburg Final Qualifier.
Blake Hardison won the 60 meter hurdles at the UW-La Crosse Final Qualifier running a season best of 8.03. The 2024 Indoor Nationals Runner-Up currently sits in a tie for 10th nationally heading into the 2025 National Championships. The 4x400m Relay team won the Wartburg Final Qualifier after running a time of 3:16.92. The quartet of
Jaberrius Peake,
Otis Patterson,
Kali Freeman, and
Andrew Hutchinson currently sit at 11th nationally. Only 12 teams qualify for the National Championships.
Andrew Hutchinson will also be into the National Championships in the 800 meter run as he is in 13th nationally in the event with a 1:52.58 at the A-R-C Championships last weekend. Senior
Jaidyn Williams will also qualify in the triple jump after jumping a 14.53 meters at the UW-La Crosse Final Qualifier after winning the meet and also breaking the Facility and Meet Record. The Spartans also will have three men's participants in the shot put at the Indoor Championships as well.
Jacob Edwards sits sixth with a 17.18 meters,
Dakota Hoffman is eighth with a 17.14m, and
Zach Sanford sits 20th with a mark of 16.38m.
