ROCHESTER, N.Y. - The University of Dubuque men's track and field team competed in three running events on Friday afternoon on the first day of the 2025 NCAA Division III Indoor Track & Field Championships.
Blake Hardison ran the 60 meter hurdles prelims,
Andrew Hutchinson in the 800 meters prelims, and the men's 4x400 meter relay team.
In the 60 meter hurdles prelims,
Blake Hardison opened his final trip to the NCAA Indoor Championships on a high note running a season best time of 7.98 seconds to finish second in his heat to earn the automatic qualifier into the final tomorrow. Hardison will enter the final with the fifth fastest time, and will compete for a national championship at 2:00 p.m. (CT) tomorrow.
In the 800 meters, Andrew Hutchinson ran his best time of the season, improving his own school record with a time of 1:51.56 to finish second in his heat and the secon fastest prelim time overall. Hutchinson will compete for a national championship at 3:50 p.m. (CT).
The 4x400 meter relay team of Jaberrius Peake, Otis Patterson, Kali Freeman, and Andrew Hutchinson finished second in their heat after running a time of 3:17.36. The relay team finished ninth,but due to a team getting disqualified, the relay team will be competing in the final tomorrow afternoon.Â

The Spartans will be represented in six different events tomorrow as the men's team will compete in four events, while the women's team opens up their competition with their two qualifiers.Â
