WAVERLY, Iowa - The University of Dubuque women's track and field team finished fifth place in the team standings at the American Rivers Indoor Championships on Saturday. The Spartans were led by an all-conference performance by Jaden Gatts in the high jump who finished as the runner-up. The Spartans finished with 56 team points on the weekend. 

Sophomore high jumper Jaden Gatts was the highest finisher on the day for the Spartans as she cleared 1.61 meters (5-03.25) to finish as the runner-up in the event. Other top finishes included Jaide Flowers in the 400 meter dash who finished fifth with a time of 59.64. The 4x400m relay of Dede Davis, Gianna Borzileri, Mackenzie Rader, Jaide Flowers finished in fourth to win their heat of the event. Kiana Vogel, Alexia Pecora, Alli Gonnella, Kiley Chapman ran the 4x800 meter relay for the Spartans to earn a seventh place finish with a time of 10:42.19. Faith Hayes earned a seventh place finish as well with a leap of 10.69 meter in the triple jump. Dede Davis finished eight in the 800 meter run with a time of 2:25.18. Keira Alliss finished eight in the 60 meter dash final with a time of 7.97 seconds.

The Spartans wlll look to qualify as many events as possible to the NCAA Indoor Championship next Friday, March 7 as a selct few events will travel to Platteville for the UW-Platteville Final Qualifier. Saturday, March 8, the Spartans will split to head to the UW La-Crosse Final Qualfier and Wartburg Final Qualfier. Start times will be announced at a leter time.
