WAVERLY, Iowa - A strong day two performance was enough to lift the University of Dubuque men's track and field team to a runner-up finish at the 2025 American Rivers Conference Indoor Track and Field Championships. The Spartans finished with 131 team points led by three conferences champions and nine all-conference performances.
Otis Patterson was the leading force on the day winning gold in all three of his events on the track, and also earning a silver medal in the high jump. The Spartans were able to pull away to themselves in sole possession of the runner-up team spot after a sweep of the podium in the 200-meter dash by Patterson,
Jaberrius Peake and
Nolan Lentz.

Otis Patterson won the event will a 22.07 run, last years outdoor 200m champion
Jaberrius Peake finished as the runner-up with a 22.08, and senior
Nolan Lentz took third with a 22.17. All three Spartans earned all-conference honors in the event. Patterson also was crowned conference champion in the 400-meter dash aby dropping a 49.53 run in the event. The 4x400 meter relay team of
Otis Patterson,
Jaberrius Peake,
Blake Hardison, and
Andrew Hutchinson were crowned conference champions by running a winning time of 3:19.63.
Senior
Andrew Hutchinson claimed all-conference honors in the 800 meter run finishing second with a time of 1:52.56.
Jacob Edwards earned all-conference honors by finishing runner-up in the weight throw after launching a throw of 18.23 meters.
Jaidyn Williams finished as runner-up in the triple jump with a seasons best of 14.47 meters to earn all-conference.
Otis Patterson completed the five for five in all-conference honors by earning the silver medal in the high jump after clearing 1.96 meters.

The Spartans wlll look to qualify as many events as possible to the NCAA Indoor Championship next Friday, March 7 as a selct few events will travel to Platteville for the UW-Platteville Final Qualifier. Saturday, March 8, the Spartans will split to head to the UW La-Crosse Final Qualfier and Wartburg Final Qualfier. Start times will be announced at a leter time.
