WAVERLY, Iowa – Day one of the American Rivers Conference Indoor Track and Field Championships was held on Friday as the University of Dubuque women's track and field team began their postseason. The Spartans were in six events on Friday.
The Spartans began strong as sophomore thrower Chloe Reiser became conference champion in the shot put with a throw of 14.53 meters. The Decorah, Iowa native launched a massive lifetime best to dominate the field and now sits second nationally in the event. In the pentathlon, Victoria Zoltowska made a run to the podium earning third place in the five-event competition. She set a personal best in the multi-event of 2804 points, good enough for an all-conference finish. Autumn McLaughlin put up a massive lifetime personal best in the pole vault leaping an impressive 3.29 meters to earn her first all-conference finish as a Spartan. The distance medley relay team of Kiana Vogel, Gianna Borzileri, Jaide Flowers, and Dede Davis put up a time of 12:41.57 in the event to earn all-conference. In the 60-meter dash prelims, Keira Alliss earned a spot in the final tomorrow with a personal best time of 7.90. Alliss will look to contend for a championship in the event tomorrow.
