DUBUQUE, Iowa – The University of Dubuque men's track and field team was back in action Saturday hosting the University of Dubuque Spartans Shootout on A.Y. McDonald Track. The Spartans dominated the team score with 263 total points with nine event winners on the day and a facility record.
The Spartans had nine event winners on Saturday.
Blake Hardison in the 60 meter hurdles continued his early season success with a new facility record time of 8.06 which put him seventh nationally in Division III.
Andrew Hutchinson won the one mile run in a time of 4:19.48.
Anthony Carney Jr. led from start to finish in the 3000 meter run with a time of 8:37.74.
Zach Sanford won the weight throw with a toss of 17.33 meters.
Jacob Edwards put up another impressive win in the shot put, winning with a throw of 16.92 meters.
Jaidyn Williams opened his season with wins in both the long jump and triple jump. In the long jump Williams posted a mark of 7.03 meters which currently leads the American Rivers Conference. In the triple jump, Williams had a best jump of 14.41 meters, which currently sits sixth nationally.
Otis Patterson set an indoor season personal best to win the high jump with a mark of 1.95 meters.
Ethan Stoker picked up another win in the pole vault with a 4.40 meter height.

The Spartans will split up to two different meets next Saturday, Feburary 8 as the running event will travel to Illinois Wesleyan University for the Keck DIII Select, while the field events will head to Carthage College for the Tadd Metzger Invitational. Start time are yet to be determined.
