Winkel, Bechen, Glennon Receive AVCA All-American Honors; Winkel Named First-Team

LEXINGTON, Ky. – The American Volleyball Coaches Association (AVCA) announced their All-Americans on Wednesday. Delainey Winkel garnered First-Team honors, while Taylor Bechen and Ashley Glennon received Honorable Mention honors. Winkel became the first player in program history to be named an AVCA First-Team All-American.

Winkel, who was named AVCA Region IX Player of the Year last week, adds this honor to the extensive list she has received this season. Winkel terrorized opposing defenses during her junior campaign, racking up 409 kills at a .223 hitting percentage. She also added 352 digs and 23 blocks during the season. In addition to these two honors, Winkel was named American Rivers Conference (A-R-C) MVP.

Bechen and Glennon received All-American Honorable Mention awards from the AVCA on Wednesday. Bechen was named to the Oshkosh All-Regional Tournament Team after tallying 55 digs across two matches. She finished the year with 670 digs and will be in contention for several program records during her upcoming season. Glennon tallied 271 kills in her final campaign at a .143 hitting percentage. She added 379 digs, 40 blocks, and 26 service aces. Both Bechen and Glennon were named AVCA Region IX First-Team players last week.

With Wednesday's announcement, Winkel becomes the first Spartan ever to receive AVCA First-Team All-American honors. After a stellar 26-5 season, the Spartans will look to defend their A-R-C regular season title in 2026.
