DUBUQUE, Iowa – The University of Dubuque men's cross country team competed in the American Rivers Conference Championships on Saturday and finished sixth of nine teams in the conference.
Anthony Carney Jr. finished with an all-conference ninth place finish.
Carney Jr. paced the Spartans with a time of 24:21.9 in the 8k event, placing and earning an all-conference selection for a second consecutive season. Carney Jr. set a new personal best on Saturday, which set a new 8,000 kilometer school record for the men's cross country program.
Trentyn Gilges finished 29
th in the meet with a time of 25:06.9, also a personal best.
Aiden Mohr finished 52
nd for a season-best time of 25:48.3.
Carter Richter and
Evan Robertson also achieved personal bests with times of 26:01.0 and 26:47.3, good for 65
th and T-98
th in the meet to secure a sixth-place finish for the Spartans.

Connor Madison,
Alexander Palmer, and
Kaden Miller all finished with personal bests on Saturday.

The Spartans will take next weekend off before traveling to Waverly, Iowa to compete in the NCAA Midwest Regional Championships on November 15 at 11:00 a.m. at the Max Cross Country Course. The Spartans will look to advance runners to the NCAA Championships the following weekend.
