PELLA, Iowa - The University of Dubuque men's golf team led the first round of the Central College Fall Classic and never looked back en route to another victory for the Spartans after completing rounds of 299-300 (599) at the Bos Landen Golf Course (Par 72, 6,602 yds.). UD bested the field of 16 schools and won by 13 strokes over second place the Central College Dutch. The average score on Monday was 82.85 and on Tuesday it lowered slightly to 82.71 of the 87 competitors.

John Dobbe rallied in the second round to shoot three under par and moved up the standings by seven spots to claim medalist honors after rounds of 75-69 (144). He edged out teammate Luke Harwick who finished runner-up after scores of 72-74 (146). Pauly Bloomquist had rounds of 73-80 (153) to finish ninth overall. Joe LaBarbera golfing as an individual tied for 17th after shooting rounds of 79-77 (156). Bob Ryan tied for 33rd after he finished with scores of 84-77 (161). Caleb McCullough tied for 42nd after rounds of 79-85 (164). 

"Really proud of the guys and to finish off the fall season with a win is great," commented head coach Dustin Bierman. "Bos Landen is a tough course and super demanding off the tee, but I thought our guys did a great job of hanging in there over two days. This is the Spartans third tournament win this fall out of four against some of the top ranked teams in the Midwest. Happy for John Dobbe on earning medalist honors today and he had a wonderful run this fall. I'm looking forward to the spring season with this group and seeing what they accomplish."

The Spartans return to play in 2026 when they will defend their 2025 American Rivers Conference Championship.
