PELLA, Iowa - The University of Dubuque men's golf team led the first round of the Central College Fall Classic by two strokes after a score of 299. The Spartans are led by Luke Harwick who shot an even par 72 is tied for second place overall of the 87 competitors at Bos Landen Golf Resort. The average score on the opening day was 82.85.

Other Spartans scores include: Pauly Bloomquist who finished with a round of 73, John Dobbe ended the afternoon with a 75, Caleb McCullough had a round of 79, Bob Ryan shot an 84, Joe LaBarbera playing as an individual had a 79. Just two eagles happened in the opening round, both on the 18th hole, a par 5 which played 4.89 on average.
