DUBUQUE, Iowa – The University of Dubuque women's track and field team opened up the indoor season with the annual Moco Mercer Open from A.Y. McDonald Indoor Track Saturday afternoon. The Spartans looked to get their first opening marks of the season on their home track. Visiting team competing were Augustana College, Clarke, Sauk Valley Community College, and Edgewood College. The Spartans walked away with five champions on the afternoon.
Sophomore
Jaden Gatts continued to show dominance opening in the high jump winning with a mark 1.60m. Gatts qualified for the indoor national championships in her freshman season and looks to build. Sophomore thrower
Chloe Reiser won the shot put throwing a mark of 13.60m. Reiser is also an outdoor national championship qualifier from her freshman season as well.
Jaide Flowers won the 600 meter run with an opener of 1:42.13.
Breen Duffy began her junior season on top in the weight throw earning a top mark of 15.06m. In Long Jump
Victoria Zoltowska won the long jump competition with a mark of 5.02m. In the women's 1000 meter run
Dede Davis became the new school record holder in the event.
