Box Score GALESBURG, Ill. – The University of Dubuque women's soccer team was back on the road Wednesday as they took on the Knox College Prairie Fire. The Spartans hit the gas pedal early with an explosive offensive game dominated possession and controlling the game from start to finish and even saw a hat trick from
Emma Kober snapping a three-game winless streak.
The Spartans were off and running early after
Samantha Scodeller converted on an early penalty kick after a Prairie Fire foul inside the box to get the scoring started to go up 1-0. Forward
Emma Kober had a successful game earning her first hat trick of the season. He first goal happened in the 12
th minute converting off a pass from
Alyssa Tranchita. Kober scored her second goal 18 minutes later off a pass from
Autumn Huntington. Kober's third goal was converted on a penalty kick early in the second half. Also scoring a goal was
Alyssa Tranchita in the 52
nd minute off a pass from Kober for her second goal of the season to make the final score 5-0. As a team, the Spartans had 24 shots with 14 of them being on goal. The defense was superb as they only allowed two total shots on the night.
The Spartans improve to 4-1-3 as conference play draws near.
