DECORAH, Iowa - For the fourth time in as many tournaments in 2020, the University of Dubuque women's golf team took home the team title, shooting a weekend total of 665 (+89) to win the Luther Invite by 20 strokes.

After shooting a 77 and 78 on Saturday, Daniela Miranda and Brooke Bunjes hung onto their spots on the top-three of the leaderboard, despite shooting an 86 and 87 to share second place on the weekend. Madison Bowers made a charge on Sunday afternoon, firing off an 82, six strokes better than she shot on Saturday to jump into the top-10 with a 170 (+26) and earn a tie for seventh place. The trio of Miranda, Bunjes and Bowers now all have finished in the top-10 in every event they have played in this fall.

All five Spartan A team players would grab top-10 finishes at the Luther Invite. Mary Edwards picked up her first top-10 finish, staying consistent on the weekend with rounds of 85 and 86 for a 171 (+27) and a share of ninth place. Meanwhile, this was Courtney Olson's second appearance in the top-10, sharing ninth place (171, +27) with Edwards after improving on her Saturday 88 with a Sunday 83. 

The UD B team sat in the middle of the pack, finishing fifth with scores of 358-350 for a 708 (+132). Sarah Fergus had the biggest improvement of any Spartan from Saturday to Sunday, improving by eight strokes to finish with rounds of 91-83 to tie for 14th place at 174 (+30). The Spartans had two more finish in the top-20, as Madeline Sturm was just one shot back of Fergus at 175 (+31) and Sydney Killeen carded a 178 (+34) to tie for 20th.

The Spartans have one final tune-up before the American Rivers Conference Championship, heading to Marion, Iowa next Saturday for the Mount Mercy Fall Invite at Hunters Ridge Golf Course.
