DUBUQUE, Iowa - The American Rivers Conference (A-R-C) released this week's conference athletes of the week on Monday, as University of Dubuque men's soccer student-athlete Luka Tomic (Sioux Falls, S.D. / Sioux Falls Lincoln) was named men's soccer defensive athlete of the week by the conference.

The sophomore midfielder earned his first career athlete of the week honor on Monday after scoring two goals, leading the Spartans to a 2-0 week. Tomic's two goals last week were his first career goals as he scored the game's first goal against St. Scholastica in the opening two minutes and then was able to tie the game 1-1 against St. Mary's on a beautiful free kick that found the back right corner of the net.

Tomic and the Spartans are back in action tomorrow night (Sept. 15) at UW-Whitewater. The opening whistle is set for 7:00 p.m.
